is home contents insurance?
Home
contents insurance protects your possessions against loss, damage and theft. In
return for an annual or monthly premium, the insurance company will cover the
cost of replacing or repairing an item that is lost, stolen or damaged.
You
can choose cover according to your needs. A standard policy will typically
include such cover as loss or damage to your possessions while in your home,
alternative accommodation to the value of 15% of the value of the sum assured,
replacement of locks and accidental damage of audio/video or computer equipment.
However, you will have the flexibility to add cover for additional items or
events such as freezer contents, pedal cycles and credit cards, or for
accidental damage of further items.
